S.E.C. Inquiry on Hedge Fund Draws Scrutiny
Two Senate committees -- Finance and Judiciary -- are investigating how diligently the Securities and Exchange Commission pursued its inquiry into insider trading by Pequot Capital Management, a prominent hedge fund, and whether senior S.E.C. officials gave special treatment to John J. Mack by not taking his testimony when an investigator wanted to, The New York Times reported.
